Night at the Races
Saturday Feb 25th at Lifford Dag track. This is a fundraising event which aims to bring family and frends together and raise funds for the association. There will be 11 races and 10 dogs in each race, there is an opportunity to sponsor a dog which is great for the kids as they get to cheer for "their dog". Different dining options are available. Parent & Toddler Group
The next meeting of the Parent & Toddler group will take place on Friday Jan 27th at 11am in the Down Syndrome office Convent road Letterkenny. All parents with children of pre school age are welcome.
Speech and Language Therapy
Stephanie Moore is a full time speech and language therapist for Donegal Down Syndrome and the Bluestack Foundation.Stephanie will be available 2 day's per week in Donegal Town and 2 day's in Letterkenny and 1 day in Buncrana. Contact the office for more information.
Yoga classes
Children and young adults are really enjoying and benefiting from yoga.Classes involve chanting, breathing exercises, games, posture poses and relaxation. This has really helped with balance, posture, confidence and behaviour.Classes starting again in September
Youth Group
Our adults are really enjoying the regular bowling nights. We meet on the last Friday of every month, Arena 7 at 7:15pm, we start bowling at about 7:30 for an hour and then grap a bite to eat in diner and are ready to be picked up at 9pm. These nights out are always lots of fun and a great way of getting together.If there is anyone who would like to attend but is unable due to transport issues please let us know and we can try to have something arranged
Swimming Lessons
One-to One swimming lessons are provided in Letterkenny, Buncrana and Donegal Town.Please call if you would like to avail of this very beneficial activity
Branch Meetings
Donegal Down Syndrome have monthly branch meeting - on the 1st Tue of every month in Down Syndrome centre, Convent Rd. These meetings provide the opportunity for members to discuss any problems or issues they may be experiencing and also allows an opportunity for people to meet and talk. It is hoped that members will make an effort to attend meetings to show support and help give direction for association.
